Dropson receives the AireLibre Recognition at FITUR

DROPSON, COMMITTED TO SUSTAINABLE TOURISM

The Dropson company has been awarded with the AireLibre Commitment to Sustainable Tourism Recognition for creating and patenting the Dropson Filter Can, an innovative water filter with great environmental advantages.

NEW GENERATION WATER FILTER

The Dropson Filter Can allows you to consume water, directly from the tap with superior quality, filtering up to 300 litres of perfect water instantly, thanks to it´s new generation filtering technology.

It´s natural process of filtration with biomaterials, eliminates bad tastes and other components such as chlorine, chemicals or heavy metals.

Dropson’s new water filter aims to reduce bottled water consumption and it´s environmental impact. 87g of disposable and recyclable plastic capable of filtering up to 300 litres of quality drinking water, the equivalent of 3 months of water with a single can, replacing 200 water bottles and a total of 7kg of waste plastic.

The Dropson Filter Can considerably reduces the environmental impact and protects the environment, generating 233 times less CO2 emissions in it´s transport than bottled water.

TOURISM ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

Spain is one of the main destinations, with more than 80 million tourists a year, especially in coastal and marine areas.

This tourism generates enormous amounts of plastic waste (bottles, bags, coffee capsules, etc.), harmful for the environment. Therefore, companies and other entities have the responsibility to promote responsible consumption, offering sustainable products and services that respect the environment.

Among all plastic waste, bottled water is one of the most polluting factors, consuming around 11,000 litres of bottled water per minute and thus generating thousands of tonnes of plastic waste.

INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF SUSTAINABLE TOURISM

In the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development, the magazine AireLibre has been carrying out a series of activities around 2017, including the recognition of all those initiatives and companies committed to quality tourism and the benefits it brings to society and our environment.

A recognition of the involvement of companies that, through their activity, activate tourism based on responsible and environmentally friendly practices.
