AireLibre gives Dropson the "Sustainable Tourism Commitment Award" at FITUR

Dropson, aware of quality tourism

Dropson company has been awarded with the Sustainable Tourism AirLibre Commitment Award for its latest innovation in domestic water filtering: the filter can. A water filter with great environmental advantages.

Environmental consequences of tourism

Spain receives around 80 million tourists a year, and its main destinations are the coastal and marine areas. It is expected to reach 100 million tourists in the next 20 years. This mass tourism generates large quantities of plastic waste that affects the environment and our surroundings.

Faced with this worrying situation, companies and other entities have a responsibility to offer sustainable products and services that help to respect the environment and promote responsible consumption.

Bottled water is one of the most harmful and polluting plastic waste that exists. In Spain, around 5,500 million litres of bottled water are consumed per year, generating 1,200 tonnes of plastic waste.
