Dropson electronic water softener chosen for a hotel project in Tunisia

Proyecto hotelero en Túnez

Last July, Dropson visited the town of Hammamet in Tunisia to carry out a pilot project in one of the hotels in the area. The hotel chosen was the Chich Khan Hotel located in the centre of Yasmine de Hammamet, 200 metres from the coast.

The luxurious complex is inspired by the Moorish and Berber style characteristic of the country. It has a total of 247 rooms and is surrounded by extensive gardens in which we can find different swimming pools and playgrounds.

Dropson electronic water softener against water hardness

During the visit to the Chich Khan Hotel, a pilot project was initiated to solve the important calcareous problems of the area. Tunisia is a country with extreme water hardness, which causes excessive limescale in the installations.

The high degree of hardness caused numerous problems in the hotel. They had problems with the production of hot water and the faucets were often clogged due to limescale build-up in the pipes.

As a result of the problems caused by this type of water, it was essential to find an effective solution against limescale. In the hotel, two EMI 9000 anti-lime systems were installed in parallel and one EMI 9000 in recirculation in a well, accompanied by its corresponding sediment filters.

With the installation of the Dropson electronic water softener, which develops a proprietary EMI (Electro Magnetic Impact) technology, the hotel has taken an important step towards tackling the lime problem affecting its sanitary hot water installations.
